Breast Surgery, Melanoma & General Surgery
Dr Salindera is a General Surgeon who was born and raised in Coffs Harbour. Her study took her to Sydney where she undertook a Bachelor of Science and also a Masters in Health Law at the University of Sydney before undertaking her medical degree at Flinders University. After completing her internship and residency at Coffs Harbour Hospital she was selected into the General Surgery specialist training program with the Prince of Wales Hospital Randwick. She has completed the Value-Based Healthcare Program at Harvard Business School and is also currently completing her Masters in Surgery at Oxford University, UK.
With a longstanding interest in both rural General Surgery and Breast & Oncoplastic Surgery, Dr Salindera pursued extra training in Oncoplastic breast surgery, melanoma and surgical oncology at Royal North Shore Hospital & Melanoma Institute Australia, which would not have been possible without support from the Friends of the Mater Foundation. She gained additional experience at the Westmead Breast Cancer Institute before returning to work in Coffs Harbour. She strongly believes in the need to deliver holistic and sustainable surgical care to patients in their home communities and hopes to improve patient outcomes by delivering such quality care to the Coffs Harbour region.

Oncoplastic surgery combines the latest plastic surgery techniques following breast cancer surgery to facilitate reconstruction and better outcomes. When a large lumpectomy is required to remove breast cancer, this can leave the breast distorted; therefore, the remaining tissue is sculpted to restore a natural appearance to the breast shape. This is an important aspect of breast conserving surgery and also planning breast reconstruction.

Dr Salindera offers outpatient services at her clinic in 15 Duke Street Coffs Harbour, accepting General Surgery, melanoma and Breast surgery specific consultations.
